Although the Cricket World Cup started in 1975 with 60-over matches, it was converted to 50-over format in 1987. It marks a significant milestone as it is the first time India and Pakistan have jointly hosted outside England.
Cricket World Cup 2023

India's role as host -
13 Cricket World Cups have been played since 1975 and have been organized and hosted by different countries. The 13th edition of Cricket World Cup 2023 was last held in India.
